Justice League film confirmed with Zack Snyder to directAnd then there was Batman. Following on from our earlier post of Zack Snyder teasing an image of a bat mobile under covers, Snyder has gone on to release the first look at Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight from Batman vs Superman.

They have managed to make Affleck’s Batman look like a seasoned crime fighterindeed, and the costume seems to retain some of the features from The Dark Knight Returns animated film/comic run with the small bat ears and the large logo across the chest.

Batman vs Superman stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons. The film hits our big screens on 29 April 2016. Read More

2014 Guide to Valentine’s Day Films

Love is in the air… alongside the smell of roses and sweet/salt popcorn. No doubt many of you choose a cinema date this Valentine’s Day with that special someone. We’ve got you covered with some romantic options that are date-worthy and currently playing at cinema near you.

Her is a movie that depicts a man who falls in love with Samantha, the operating system which helps him go through life, a Siri-like experience voiced by the sultry and sexy Scarlett Johansson. Sweet, creepy and adorable because the guy wears glasses and has a weird but cool pained life thing going on, this is a movie I would definitely want to see. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Pratt.

A New York Winter’s Tale is a beautiful story about magic, miracles and obviously love starring Colin Farrell and Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay with the official new baddie Russell Crowe. Colin Farrell plays a burglar who falls for a heiress as she dies in his arms. When he learns that he has the gift of reincarnation, he sets out to save her.  Starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay and Russell Crowe.

Endless Love is the ultimate teen romance flick running along the tireless themes of young forbidden unrequited love, across a class system with the girl obviously being the rich protected daughter of a man who thinks a cool kid who works as a valet with a checkered past is an unsuitable man for his princess. Starring Alex Pettyfer, Gabriella Wilde and Bruce Greenwood.

And if you and your valentine are not in the mood to make some deep emotional connections with the characters in the above films, we’ve got some rom-coms/all-rounder films that will complete the night.

That Awkward Moment tells the story of what most of us guys go through when we meet a new girl – that confusing moment when you have to decide “So… where is this going?” And what do guys do in these situations, team up with other dudes to overcome this one monumental hurdle together with comedic results. Starring Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller.

Cuban Fury pretty much shows you every guy’s dream… to be a smoking hot salsa dancer with an accent of hispanic origins a la Antonio Banderas. But Nick Frost takes it one step further and shows us that even the most rotund underdog can woo a girl with some fancy footwork. Starring Nick Frost, Chris O’Dowd and Rashida Jones.

The Lego Movie is the safe bet when all the above is not sitting right between you and your date. An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together. Starring Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Pratt, Shaquille O’Neill, Morgan Freeman, Jonah Hill, Nick Offerman, Channing Tatum, Alison Brie, Liam Neeson, Will Ferrell, Dave Franco, Cobie Smulders, Billy Dee Williams.
